2019 β First Outreach

Empowering underprivileged families and children in Uganda through education, healthcare, community support, and advocacy.
Ukarimu Charity Initiative, whose name translates to "Generosity" in Swahili, represents a profound commitment to community welfare rooted in a simple act of kindness. Established on December 23rd, 2019, in Uganda's Luweero District; the Initiative was conceived by the newlywed couple, Mr. Edema Jimmy and Mrs. Aliba Lydia Edema. Following their wedding in November 2019, the couple sought to celebrate their first Christmas by extending their joy to those in the community faced with economic hardship and could not afford festive celebrations.
This heartfelt aspiration led them to collaborate with the Pastoral Office of Kasana Cathedral Parish within the Kasana-Luweero Catholic Diocese. Through the guidance of Rev. Fr. Ssenyange Matthias, who then oversaw the elderly and the sick, two most vulnerable elderly women in Bunyenye village, Kagugo parish Luweero sub-county were identified as the inaugural beneficiaries. The provision of a simple Christmas package to these two individuals marked the humble, yet pivotal, beginning of what would become a sustained and expanding annual charity program. This initial gesture laid the foundation for an organization dedicated to upholding the dignity and well-being of the most vulnerable members of society.
